The three simple steps to Fastback® PERFECT binding:
Step 1
Bind your document pages with the appropriate Perfectback™ Strip, using a
Fastback® binding machine.
Fastback® binding is quick, easy and economical. Operator training takes
minutes, binding takes seconds and pages stay bound for years and years! The
results are hard working documents that open flat and stack neatly.
Step 2
Place single or double scores onto your pre-printed cover using the
Scorer.
The Scorer requires minimal hand force to use and can place single or double
scores onto book covers, without damage to toner-based digitally printed stock.
The Scorer also incorporates a number of unique features, including a centring
guide and transparent die holder, which allow you to visualise and place scores
quickly and accurately.
Step 3
Finish your document by inserting the bound book block into your pre-printed
wraparound cover.
Three types of Perfectback™ Strips; LF (Lay Flat). PS (Pressure Sensitive) and
TA (Temperature Activated), cater for all types of cover materials and printing
methods.
Perfectback TA Strips
The cover is attached to the bound book block during a final heat activated
binding cycle, carried out on a Fastback® binder. When finished, the cover is
fully attached to the spine of the bound book block. Not compatible with heat
sensitive cover materials or printing methods.
Perfectback PS Strips
Contact adhesive on the back of the binding strip is used to manually adhere
the cover directly to the spine of the bound book block, without using heat.
When finished, the cover is fully attached to the spine of the bound book block.
Suitable for use with most covers including heat sensitive materials and
digitally printed stock.
Perfectback LF Strips
Bands of contact adhesive running along the outside edges of the binding
strip are used to manually adhere the cover to the bound book block, without
using heat. When finished the spine of the cover floats freely, allowing the
book to open flat without creasing or damaging the title surface of the spine.
Suitable for use with most covers including heat sensitive materials and
digitally printed stock.
